Growing urban industrialization has led people migrating to the cities searching for better life degrading the environment of Hanoi. This growth has put a lot of pressure on the limited infrastructure and environment of the city which is antiquated and dates back to the early 20th century. This has led into living dangerously with tangled wires all over the city. Power lines, phone and television cables pose a threat to city residents by producing fires and electric shocks, most commonly during rainy days.
